Hi! Are you sitting down right now? If not, you might want to. Your child’s favorite store to beg for things in (AKA Build-A-Bear Workshop) is launching its first-ever “Pay Your Age Day” in stores this Thursday, July 12, and it sounds pretty exciting.
The one-day-only deal is in celebration of the new Build-A-Bear “Count Your Candles” birthday experience, which will allow customers 14 and under to “pay their age” for a Birthday Treat Bear whenever they visit a Build-A-Bear Workshop during their birthday month.
But on July 12, any customer — regardless of age, or whether or not it’s their birthday month — will be able to purchase a Make-Your-Own furry friend and pay for it in their age. In other words: If your kid is 5, then their very own furry friend will be theirs for the whopping total of $5. How amazing is that?!
There are, of course, some caveats. According to Build-A-Bear, in order to participate in either the Pay Your Age Day deal or the Count Your Candles program, parents or guardians will need to enroll in the Build-A-Bear Bonus Club rewards program. It’s totally free, but requires a valid email address and a name. It’s also highly encouraged that you do this prior to heading to a Build-A-Bear store on July 12, to save time at checkout, and also because — let’s face it — the store will likely be pretty mobbed. (In case you’re worried about that, though, the store will allow you to purchase a bear unstuffed and come back later when the crowds die down to have it stuffed.)
The offer can’t be combined with any other deals or offers and is only available in stores in the U.S. and Canada on one Make-Your-Own furry friend toy. The person who wishes to pay in their age must also be present at the time of purchase. Also, outfits, sounds, accessories, and scents are extra. But still! If you’ve ever been to a Build-A-Bear store, then you know those adorable little furry friends can really add up, which means a savings like this is pretty incredible.
Better set your morning alarms now — we have a feeling this Thursday is going to be an early one for a LOT of us!
