Sridevi is a legend and her 300 films are all a legacy. The late actress’ daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, joined the Hindi film industry with last Friday’s release, Dhadak. The movie has been very well received by the audience and the critics. The speculations about Janhvi’s next project after Dhadak have started. There has been no confirmation as to what her next step would be. But the world is closely watching. But one thing is for sure. She won’t be starring in a remake of a Sridevi movie for a very long time.
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, the actress was asked if she’d love to star in a remake of a Sridevi movie, produced by her father. The young star replied, “It’s daunting to even think about it, as it’s ten times more responsibility,” and added, “I need to first prove myself to be deserving of such a great opportunity.”
Though in an earlier interview, she had given in to the temptation and had said that she would love to do a remake of Sadma. Which BTW, is one of Sridevi’s most celebrated performances.
In the interview with HT, Janhvi also talked about her family’s reaction to Dhadak. She revealed, “Khushi (younger sister) was crying… She looked at me and said, ‘Why are you worrying?’ and then started crying again. Papa actually saw the film a month ago, and as soon as the screening was over, he went to the temple. That night he came to my room and held me tight and started crying.”
Dhadak has been directed by Shashank Khaitan and stars Ishaan Khatter opposite, Janhvi.
