Toilet: Ek Prem Katha China box office day 2: Akshay Kumar’s film sees a massive growth, earns Rs 39.85 crore



After receiving a good response on its opening day, Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha aka Toilet Hero witnessed a significant growth on its second day at the box office. The social drama raked in raked in Rs 23.91 crore and now stands with the grand total of Rs 39.85 crore. The film is all set to cross Rs 50 crore mark today at the ticket windows.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film is produced by Aruna Bhatia, Plan C Studios and Abundantia Entertainment and presented by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and KriArj Entertainment. Apart from the lead cast, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha also stars Anupam Kher, Sudhir Pandey and Divyendu Sharma in key roles. Interestingly, the film which released last year in the domestic circuit earned around Rs 135 crore and became Akshay Kumar’s highest grosser of all time. Talking about the plot, the film is a satirical comedy in support of government campaigns to improve sanitation conditions in India, with an emphasis on the eradication of open defecation, especially in rural areas.
